工作职责
Obstetrics – the post holder will provides comprehensive prenatal, intra partum and postnatal care.
This includes the provision of care in clinics, delivery rooms, operating theaters and the emergency department. Both in house (resident in the hospital) and on call duties are required at a frequency determined by the needs of the department.
The post holder will work as part of a department team which includes nurses, midwives, administrators and managers to provide a safe, high quality and efficient service to patients, maintain high quality medical records, and complete such forms as are required for the proper functioning of the department and the hospital.
The post holder will work with other departments, such as anesthesiology, pediatrics, surgery, radiology, in the hospital to provide an integrated patient centered service.
It is expected that the post holder will undergo annual appraisal, job planning including setting objectives in line with the needs of the department, carry out at least 1 audit each year, and will serve on at least one hospital/clinic committee. The post holder will contribute fully to the work of the department including attending regular multi-disciplinary team meetings for the purposes of clinical review, developing clinical pathways, and keeping up to date with changes in medical practice (CME). The post holder will work closely with the Department Chair in supporting departmental goals, and may be granted additional responsibilities based on consultation with Department Chair.

Doctor of medicine degree (or equivalent) from an approved school of medicine
Completion of residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at a hospital and program acceptable to the department Chair and Chief Medical Officer
Minimum 3-5 years experience post-residency in the clinical arena preferred
