Job Description:

Our client, a global earthmoving contractor specializing in mining and infrastructure projects, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery on-site, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You'll work under the guidance of the Project Mechanical Manager, following established maintenance procedures and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out maintenance and adjustments on heavy machinery in line with manufacturer guidelines and instructions from the Project Mechanical Manager.
• Inspect machinery, identify faults, and monitor equipment performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure smooth operation.
• Perform repairs and replace components following standard procedures.
• Assist in compiling reports on machinery condition and maintenance activities.
• Accurately complete preventive maintenance reports and documentation.
• Keep the workplace clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Properly handle, maintain, and store assigned tools.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings to align with team objectives.
• Complete daily work reports and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a heavy equipment machinery mechanic technician.
• Expertise in Caterpillar, Komatsu, Liebherr, Epiroc/Atlas Copco and Sandvik machinery.
• Higher Level Vocational Training in Mechanics.
• Basic Training in Occupational Health and Safety.
• English language proficiency.
• French proficiency is advantageous.
