Head of Finance (expat, DRC)

The Head of Finance Manager will oversee the preparation, development, and analysis of management accounting information for our Africa operation, ensuring accurate reporting and strong financial control.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and take ownership of the balance sheet and profit & loss (P&L) statements.
• Oversee tax matters, including monthly VAT returns and corporate tax, and act as the main point of contact with tax authorities.
• Ensure the timely submission of monthly financial reports.
• Develop and maintain a manual of procedures, identifying key risks and recommending mitigation strategies to reduce exposure.
• Analyse financial performance trends and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with group finance and company finance teams to review and forecast financial data.
• Propose innovative solutions to reduce costs and enhance financial performance.
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collections.
• Oversee payroll processing and implement controls to ensure compliance and prevent errors or fraud.
• Build and lead a team of finance and administration professionals to support the finance function effectively.

Skills & Work Experience:

• Prior experience in auditing with a Big 4 firm.
• 5-10 years of relevant finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll management.
• Experience with SAP and SAGE ERP systems is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Strong people and stakeholder management abilities.
